Thank You For Visiting the Stoney Glen Community Association Website!

The Stoney Glen Community Association is a non-profit corporate entity established in accordance with the statutes of the State of Virginia, and formed for the general purposes of maintaining the common areas and enhancing the value, desirability and attractiveness of Stoney Glen. As a mandatory homeowners association, all property owners in Stoney Glen are members.

Stoney Glen Community Association maintains the landscaped entrance, the playgrounds, tennis court, and all common areas.

Please take the time to peruse the site. We have included Association documents and forms to enable our residents to have immediate access without the need to request copies or information.

This website is updated frequently to keep our residents informed. We welcome your comments and suggestions.

Sincerely,

The Board of Directors

Meet the new Thomas Dale High School principal!

Our new TDHS principal, Dr. Chris Jones, will be hosting a meet and greet at the pool on July 17th from 6:30PM to 8:00pm.

It is a great opportunity to meet him and for him to hear from your families about student needs.

We encourage all ages to attend since they will all be Knights in the future!

July 4th Parade and Event at Oak Hollow Sports Club

All Stoney Glen residents are invited to attend the annual July 4th parade! We will start promptly at 10:30am at Stoney Creek Parkway and Stoney Creek Terrace and will be led by the Chester Fire Department and EMS and our very own Nicholas Carico in his police vehicle.

We will parade to the Oak Hollow Sports Club parking lot for fresh cut watermelon and goodies for all participants. Children are encouraged to ride their bikes, scooters, ATVs, skateboards, etc. Strollers and wagons are also welcomed. Decorate your transportation and dress patriotically to celebrate our Independence Day!

We will meet by the front entrance at 10am for the parade to start at 10:30. The fire truck will lead the parade, followed by ATV’s and golf carts, then bikers, followed by scooters, and finally walkers. In order to ensure the safety of everyone, please follow this order and talk to your children about it. If the emergency vehicles receive a call, they will need to pull off promptly.

Pool members: Activities for kids AND adults will be scheduled throughout the entire day, so bring a smile and join your neighbors in some friendly competition. We will have a schedule posted at the entrance of the pool to include the Soda toss, Noodle Relay, Big Splash Contest, T-Shirt Relay and the Kid Toss.

We did not have a big turn out for the Jump Rope-A-Thon last year so will only do this depending on participation. This year the Jump Rope-A-Thon will benefit a local animal rescue group! Please bring donations (food, toys, etc)if you’d like to participate.

If you need further information or have questions contact either Molly Flores or Erin Duffus

Don't Park at Stop Signs!
#

While you and your children await the school bus in the mornings, in your vehicles, please observe the state laws when parking close to stop signs, fire hydrants and intersections.

* No parking within 30 feet of a stop sign *

* No parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant *

* No parking within an intersection *

* No parking on a sidewalk *

Parking in front of stop signs causes problems for traffic going through that intersection.

Leaf Burning Is Not Allowed

#

Chesterfield County Fire Marshall has confirmed that Stoney Glen is in a non-burn area.

People who violate this safety ordinance are subject to a fine.

Plus, many people open up their windows in the cooler days and smoke odors can be annoying as well as create a health issue for some people to breath.

Stoney Glen Stingrays Needs Swimmers!
#

The Stoney Glen Swim Team currently has slots open for new swimmers. A certain number of those slots are open for swimmers who do not live in Stoney Glen. Swimming is a great sport for kids and is open to all children from ages 4 to 18. For more information, click the link to the Stingrays website in the menu above.

No Skateboarding Allowed At Oak Hollow

#

There have been more and more kids seen skateboarding at Oak Hollow over the past year. Many of the kids who are skateboarding, don't live in Stoney Glen. When you drive by and see kids skateboarding in the Oak Hollow parking lot, please stop and tell them to Read the Sign, Obey the Rules and please take their skateboarding elsewhere.

Let's Keep the Roads Safe for Pedestrians
#

There have been reports of people exceeding the posted 25mph speed limit. We have many children in this neighborhood as well as the daily walkers and runners that use our streets. Please give them the respect that they deserve and keep the speed of your car within the limits.

Be Mindful of Your Surroundings

#

PLEASE WALK AGAINST TRAFFIC - Never walk with your back to traffic. Face it so you can jump out of their path if they don't see you. With texting going on in cars, they might not. also...

RIDE BICYCLES WITH TRAFFIC - Not against it.

WATCH OUT FOR SKATEBOARDERS - Many come down the hill and curve toward the pool.

Please Clean Up After Your Dog!
#

When you walk your dog in the subdivision, please be considerate enough to bring a doggie bag to clean up your dogs' mess.

Also, please walk your dog to a common area to do their business and not your neighbors yard.

Many of your neighbors try to maintain a nice yard and would like to keep it that way. Please respect your neighbors and clean up after your dog whenever you take them out.
